Is all timber sustainable ?
Over 90% of all timber used in Europe comes from European forests which are growing by over 800,000 ha2 per year. This is due to replanting and good forest management, however illegal logging still takes place and outside of Europe deforestation is a huge problem leading to loss of habitat for many endangered species.
Finding timber from a legal and renewable source is becoming increasingly viable. All Green-Wood timber comes from legally managed forests many of which are certified sustainable.
