Housing Association Development, Wadhurst

The Green-Wood Company supplied all factory glazed casement windows, sunrooms and insulated boarded external doors for this 17 unit residential development for a Sussex Housing association.

All of this joinery was manufactured in local coppiced Kent and Sussex Sweet Chestnut which has been engineered (finger jointed and laminated) to produce a highly sustainable and durable alternative which was more acceptable to the Planners for this rural development than the UPVC or softwood windows used on previous developments.

"Wadhurst Case Study"

Clayton, Sussex

The Green-Wood Company and Westgate Joinery were specified by the project architects of this ‘Eco’ extension to a historic cottage in the Sussex hamlet of Clayton at the foot of the South Downs.

Large Lift and Slide doors, casement windows and residential doors were designed and manufactured from finger jointed and laminated local coppiced Sweet Chestnut with a natural oiled finish which will be left to weather naturally over the passage of time in line with the finger jointed Sweet Chestnut ‘rain screen’ cladding.
